Melaka River Cruise

An interesting and unique tour which visitors must not miss while you are in Melaka is the Melaka River Cruise. Come and cruise up the historical Melaka River from the ‘Taman Rempah’ near the Jalan Mata Kucing and will be surprised by what you will see and smell along this unique river. Due to the tidal tide conditions, the river boat will only operate when there is high tide. So visitors interested to take this cruise are recommended to check up first on the operating times. Also, the river cruise will only operate with a minimum 8 persons per voyage.

The river boat will cruise up the shallow Melaka River from her river mouth to Jeti Melaka where the boat makes her return trip. The distance is about 9 km from the jetty and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. A tour guide will highlight interesting things to you. Interestingly, the Melaka River once was dubbed as “Venice of The East” and today, this Melaka River become the new attraction in Melaka. Come to Melaka and take your cruise now. You will enjoy the panorama of Melaka River. Believe it, your holiday in historical Melaka won’t be completed without the Melaka River Cruise. Yesterday, for the first time I came here with my family. Want to try the experience. After the several trip at Melaka area we arrived at Taman Rempah at 6.30pm. Unfortunately they stop their operation till 8.00pm. So disappointed for the first time. We need to wait there for almost one and a half hour. And a thousand people a waiting to board this boat.. Yes a thousand of people.. But luckily we already queue up early so no need waiting for a long time to feel the experience. And I think maybe ada hikmahnya we need to waiting till night because I think the panorama at night most beautiful then a day. With the full of light along the river and you can see the kampong house with a full of bright, so interesting and nice to view.. Here I enclose a few picture plate for a reader viewers..

Menara Taming Sari ( a breath taking view from above )

Menara Taming Sari which was opened on 18th April 2008 is another unique attraction in Melaka. The tower is located in Jalan Merdeka, Bandar Hilir, one of the popular destinations for tourist. The 11o meters viewing tower has designed based on the legendary Taming Sari Keris. The tower was built using Swiss Technology and will be the 1st tower in the country to have a fully revolving structure. The air-conditioned viewing cabin will be able to accommodate 66 people at one time.
The tower offers a nice view of Melaka from the observation deck. Among the interesting and historical sites is Bandar Hilir, Dataran Pahlawan, Merdeka Straits, TUDM Meseum, Stadthuys, Saint Pauls Peak, Independence memorial, State Mosque, Melaka Island, Mahkota Parade and Eye On Malaysia.
From the height of 110 meters and view of 5km, you will witness a host of intervarsity sight and historical sight of Melaka. This is an opportunity not to be missed when you come to visit at Melaka.
